Combining Japanese athletic style with Copenhagen’s streetwear aesthetics, Mizuno teamed up with Wood Wood. The collaboration features two colorways that mirror the Danish lifestyle brand’s SS20 collection. On top of that, both Wood Wood x Mizuno Wave Rider 10 present the performance sneaker in a whole new light.
Initially released in 2007, the Wave Rider 10 is a full-fledged running shoe that usually appears in rather flashy colors. But for their own take on the silhouette, the Wood Wood designers chose a more muted approach. Each of the two CWs features a breathable mesh upper with suede overlays that add natural tones to the sneaker.
Navy blue and burgundy dominate on the .55 edition, while the .02 version uses light grey and beige as well as mint green accents. Both shoes include Wave Rider 10’s usual VS-1 shock absorption system and a compression-moulded EVA outsole. Wood Wood’s subtle “W. W.” logo on the heel’s and insoles then finalizes both sneakers.

Nørrebro, Wood Wood’s base in Copenhagen, is also home to a public park called “Superkilen”. It opened in 2012 and one of its goals is to promote tolerance by bringing locals and refugees together. One of the most prominent features of Superkilen are the wave-shaped patterns on the concrete floor – a design aspect that also appears in all shoes from Mizuno’s Wave Rider series.
