Here’s a drop that will put some serious California style into your summer. Quintessential Cali shoemakers Vans are teaming up with graphic-led artist collective Brain Dead for a capsule collection dropping on June 24.
Next to graphic tees and button-up shirts infused with classic Brain Dead-style imagery, the Vans X Brain Dead Capsule Collection also features renditions of time-honored Vans shoes such as the Old Skool LX, the Classic Slip-On LX and the Era LX.
The shoes are rendered in poppy colors such as yellow, pink, and green on the uppers, contrasted by Brain Dead’s low-fi graphics informed by punk rock and street culture, which also extend to the sides of the midsoles.
Additional stylistic touches include printed insoles co-branded with Vans and Brain Dead logos as well as all-white eyelets on the Era and Old Skool models. Accompanying the drop will be tote bags, hats, and graphic tees and button-downs.
As many of you know, Brain Dead is more than just a streetwear label, or just a brand for that matter. Founded by artists Kyle Ng and Ed Davis, Brain Dead has served as a platform for like-minded artists at the intersection of design, street, art, and culture. Brain Dead has helped realize numerous exhibits, collab products as well as music projects.
The Vans X Brain Dead Capsule Collection will release on June 24 at finer retailers including Titolo, Firmament, MRQT and TGWO.
