While the 1500 definitely is NB’s key model this year due to its 30th anniversary, other staples also receive their fair shine. In celebration of Pride Month, the Todd Snyder x New Balance LOVE 997 combines a classic design with colorful details.
For the collaboration, which also honors the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Uprising, the New York designer teamed up with the The Lesbian & Gay Big Apple Corps. The band has participated in the NYC Pride March for over four decades, marching to the sound of love and joy.
That’s why New Balance replaces the usual “MADE” title – indicating Made In USA quality – with the word LOVE. Of course the shoe still features the familiar premium quality, using uppers of suede and perforated leathers. Next to a reflective strip, the rainbow-colored tongue embroidery adds eye-catching details that represent the collab’s theme.
“I couldn’t be more pleased to release the LOVE 997 into the world. This is one of my all-time favorite New Balance silhouettes, but a totally new variation redesigned with strikingly fresh colors.”Todd Snyder
