Swiss sneaker mainstays Titolo have cooked up a sweet collabo with Diadora that checks all the boxes for what’s in style this summer season: 1990s runner style? Check. Pastel colors? Check. White outsole, bold red color splashes, and bold branding on the heel? The newly released Titolo x Diadora Intrepid “Five Almonds” has it all.

The story behind this version of the Intrepid is inspired by an Italian wedding tradition: Newlyweds in Italy receive sugar-coated almonds as a gift on their big, symbolizing five wishes: health, wealth, happiness, fertility and longevity. The slightly bitter taste of almonds symbolizes the nature of life, and the sugar coating expresses the wish that the “sweeter” moments prevail.

Sweetness definitely prevails in this drop. Made in Italy from premium materials, the upper is rendered in soft pastels, including gentle shades of blue and pink, rendered in premium materials. Overkill shared these on-feet images of the breezy low-tops.

And just for kicks, compare this summery rendition of the Intrepid model with 2016’s black-and-red collab between Packer Shoes and Diadora. Almost hard to believe it’s the same shoe…

The Titolo x Diadora Intrepid “Five Almonds” already sold out at Titolo but will make another appearance on June 3, 2017 at select sneaker stores such as Overkill later with a EUR 190 price tag.
