In 2015 Nike collaborated with Errolson Hugh and his technical lovechild ACRONYM for the very first time. The outcome was a state of the art sneaker – the Nike Lunar Force 1. Apart from a core of techwear- dedicated fans, a lot of people didn’t understand that Nike and Errolson were changing the future of footwear.
Fast-forward to today and it’s almost impossible to get your hands on one of his Nike collaborations. What’s more, a lot of other brands have been following the new tech trend and have released their own functional styles, often constructed with ultralight fabrics, waterproof tapes and smart lacing systems. In order to highlight some of today’s most sought-after techwear sneakers, we teamed up with one of the techwear scene’s very own, the Neo-Tokyo illustrator and Berlin mastermind Johnny Terror.
Johnny, who already worked together with Nike ACG and even designed a flyer for Errolson himself, presents five techwear sneakers fused into his very own futuristic world and characters. The Tech Era just started and these are this generation’s leaders.
