In dieser Woche haben wir den Aachener Store MONOX zu unserem Shop of the Week gekührt. Die kompetenten Mitarbeiter und der cleane, einzigartige Look zeichnen MONOX aus. Erfahre im Interview mit LadenbesitzerMo mehr über den Store, den er aufgrund seiner Liebe zum Sneaker eröffnete und im August sein 3-Jähriges feiert.

Wie lange gibt es MONOX und was waren damals die Gründe, den Shop aufzumachen?

Die Liebe zu Sneakern zieht sich bei mir schon durchs ganze Leben. Es fing damals mit dem Swoosh und den drei Streifen an und ging bei mir dann immer so weiter bis ich 2012 MONOX aufgemacht habe.

Wie groß ist euer Team und worauf achtet ihr vor allem, wenn ihr Leute einstellt?
Unser Team umfasst derzeit insgesamt acht Leute. Die Liebe zu Sneakern ist uns wichtig. Außerdem muss die Chemie in Sachen Persönlichkeit und Fähigkeiten stimmen, die Person muss insgesamt ins Team passen.

Was ist in euren Augen das Besondere an eurem Shop?
Ein Team mit viel Spaß bei der Arbeit und eine gehörige Portion Leidenschaft. Eine gute Beratung und das tolle Ambiente runden das Ganze ab.

Was läuft zur Zeit besonders gut – der gefragteste Schuh der Stunde?
“All White”, “All Black” und “All Red” Sneaker sind momentan sehr angesagt!

Was macht bei euch den größeren Teil der Sales aus – online oder instore?
Es schwankt immer wieder. Momentan liegen wir bei ca. 50/50.

Gibt es bei euch demnächst ein Event und was ist geplant?
Am 08.08. feiern wir unser dreijähriges Bestehen. Unsere Gäste können sich auf einen bunten Abend mit Musik, Drinks, Fingerfood und einigen Specials ganz im Zeichen des Sommers freuen. Als besonderes Dankeschön verlosen wir den ganzen Abend über kleinere und größere Geschenke. Der Abend wird von Dj LUKE begleitet! Also, kommt vorbei und feiert mit uns.

Was findet man bei euch, was man in keinem anderen Store findet?
Einen MONOX Bären. Jeder der bei uns vorbeischaut wird ihn entdecken.

Eure Pläne für die Zukunft?
Wir uns noch mehr vernetzen, wollen die nächsten Jahre an verschiedenen möchten Messen teilnehmen und generell noch ein wenig bekannter werden. (Ihr dürft also gern noch ein wenig die Werbetrommel rühren.) Außerdem planen wir natürlich weitere tolle Events, wie eine erneute X-Mas Party.

The Aachen based store MONOX is our latest Shop of the Week. The boutique that was born from the love for shoes, is characterized by its skilled staff and the clean but unique interior. Read the interview with store owner Mo to learn more about the store that is celebrating its third anniversary in August.

How long has MONOX been around and what were your reasons to open it in the first place?
I’ve had love for sneakers my whole life. It started out with the Swoosh and the Three Stripes and went on and on. I’ve finally opened MONOX in 2012.

How big is your team and what’s most important when you hire new guys?
Our team consists of 8 people. Having love for sneakers is important to us. Furthermore the personality and skills have to fit into the team.

In your opinion, what’s the most special thing about your store?
A staff that has fun at work and has a lot of passion for shoes. All topped off by a good service and a nice vibe.

Which shoe is selling the best at the moment?
“All white”, “all black” and “all red” sneakers are very hot right now.

What makes the biggest part of your sales – online or instore?
It varies. Right now it’s about 50/50.

Any upcoming events planned and if yes, what?
We are celebrating our third anniversary on August 8th. Our guests can expect a cheerful evening with music, drinks, snacks and some summer themed specials. In order to say thank you we will give away some bigger and smaller gifts. DJ LUKE will accompany the evening musically, so come and party with us.

What can you find in your store that you won’t find anywhere else?
A MONOX bear. Everyone who visits us will see it.

Your plans for the future?
We want to link more with others and be part of more sneaker tradeshows. We just want to raise our publicity in general. Furthermore we are planning a lot of. Moreover we are planning great event like a new X-Mas Party.
