SHOE GAZE – A Youtube Series About Sneakers

 In Culture

When two sneaker game OGs like Burgundy Blood and Neil Heard get together to work on a project, it really can’t go wrong. They just teamed up on a new YouTube series on sneakers called “Shoe Gaze”.

It also seems as if they’re working on a new book and at the same time produce the series. In the first episode, they visit the Shoe Museum of Northampton which owns a collection of more than 1500 sneakers, including around 700 vintage kicks, some with a big history. For instance, they have original Stan Smith sneakers, match-worn by Stan Smith himself, or a pair of Puma Ace, worn by Boris Becker when he won Wimbledon for the first time at age 17!

It’s an amazing history lesson for everyone who cares about the sneaker scene!

By the way: Neil Heard just published a new book about classic football shirts and his latest book about trainer culture is available here too! And while we are on the subject, check out our primer on great books about sneaker culture here!
