Let’s rewind the tape to 1984 when Reebok conceived one of their most important icons: Rendered in clean lines with a snug tongue and iconic H-shaped support strap, the Workout Lo model created the category of multi-purpose gym shoes before “cross training” was even a concept. Designed by Edward Lussier and team, the Workout would become a staple in Reebok’s design canon. It has been re-released countless times over the years, including a skate-specific version in the early 2000s for pro rider Stevie Williams and a slew of collab versions with leading footwear retailers such as Patta or Foot Patrol.
Returning to the classics, Reebok is bringing back the storied model in a vintage creme-colored version on a clean white bottom for 2018. Wear it with broad laces, tied loosely while skipping the H-shaped support eyelets for a full 1980s throwback. Classic athletic style is a hot ticket in 2018 – and Reebok created the blueprint with the Workout Plus.
