Puma x Diamond Supply Co. Clyde

1990s skateboarders watch out: The legendary Clyde model – originally released for basketball legend Walt „Clyde“ Frazier in 1973 and famously adopted by The Beastie Boys and ‘90s street skate pros – is coming back.

As the first-ever cooperation between Puma and LA-based skate- and streetwear label Diamond Supply Co, the Clyde returns on Black Friday as part one of a two-drop collab.

True to Diamond’s street-savvy style, the Clyde’s premium leather upper is dyed in the brand’s signature colorway, Aruba Blue, contrasted by Reptilian-accented black suede accents on the stripe and heel tab.

While the classic white outsole pattern remains unchanged, the collab Clyde features the logos of both brands on the tongue tag, supplemented by “Puma” and “Diamond” lettering on the vamp and the Diamond prism logo on the insoles.

Puma is no stranger to the 1990s – and skateboarding: At the height of the 1990s street skating boom, the brand already sponsored a high-profile team of heavy hitters including “Donger” Kien Lieu and Scott Bourne.

The Puma X Diamond Supply Co Clyde drops today, Black Friday 2016, at Diamond Supply stores. In a week, the storied shoe will hit Europe on December 03, 2016 in a limited release at select retailers such as Titolo, Solebox, Overkill, and Firmament with a suggested €109.95 price tag.
