Dutch artist Piet Parra undoubtetly is one of the most influental Nike collaborators of all time. Acclaimed for not only his own works with the brand, but also for designing the wildly popular Patta Air Max 1s, the 42-year old is a true sneaker culture star. Now he reunites with the Swoosh brand for the first time in 8 years on a Parra x Nike Air Max 1 2018 collab.
Using a grey and white base, several differently patterned layovers pop out on the sneaker. From grey diagonal stripes on the mudguard to pastel pink hits and a polka dot section on the heel, the’re definitely a lot going on here. A light blue Swoosh and striped lace tips continue the vivid approach on this Air Max 1.
While the midsole comes in crisp white, the upper colors appear again on the outsole. An embroidered “Parra” signature on the mudguard, “Nike Air” in the back and dual-branded insoles complete the collab.
Update (July 2, 2018)
As Nike now officially revealed the collab collection, we learn that it includes another Nike silhouette. The Air Zoom Spiridon receives a similar design treatment like the AM1, while there will also be a Swoosh-less F&F version of the Air Max 1.
On top of that, a special tracksuit with the new Parra pattern completes your fit. Take a look at all pieces below and read on for the release info.
