This summer, Pharrell and the Three Stripes again link up for a brand-new collection of their collaborative sneaker line. Inspired by East African culture, the Pharrell Williams x adidas Solarhu Collection features a total of five footwear styles.
Since running is a popular activity in many East African countries, the sport’s medidative nature serves as a major influence. Combining an athletic approach with colorful ethnic patterns, three Afro Hu NMDs and two Afro Tennis Hu V2s make up the collection. The former adidas silhouette especially stands out, displaying bold letterings across the forefoots. A yellow, red and black pair shows stylized versions of the words “Empower” and “Inspire”. The Swahili terms “Milele” and “Mbele” – meaning “Forever and “Forward” – then grace the teal and purple pair. Finally, the last Hu NMD features the words “Mother” and “Land”.
Equipped with a new lacing cage made of smooth leather and suede, the V2 version of the Tennis Hu model completes the collection. It arrives in two color variations of scarlet red and yellow.
