Just in time for the upcoming fall season, Packer Shoes tapped adidas for colorful EQT collaboration. With the Packer x adidas Consortium EQT 91, the Teaneck sneaker store pays tribute to the line’s lesser-known “Adventure Equipment” items.
When EQT originally launched back in 1991, it wasn’t exatly known for its rich color palette. With a clear focus on performance, the brand delivered athletic gear in a signature white-and-green color scheme. But apart from that, releases like the “Adventure Equipment” line also featured outdoor-ready sneakers with a wider spectrum of colors and materials.
Based on authentic archive models, Packer’s take on the adidas EQT 91 uses a combination of premium suedes and leather. Complemented by heavy duty mesh and technical synthetics, earthy base tones and vibrant color accents clash on the rugged construction.
In particular the differently colored Three Stripes on the lacing cage and tongue label serve as outstanding eyecatchers. “Packer” lace holders and EQT branding on the heels then add finishing touches.

Update September 26, 2018:
The folks over at Packer continue their tour through the EQT archives and present a second collab. The Packer x adidas Consortium EQT 91/18 adds some state-of-the-art design elements to a classic look.
Next to its wool-blend Primeknit vamp and hairy suede upper, the all-black BOOST sole unit stands out most. A molded heel and 3-stripe TPU cage add support to the upper, while a premium leather lining and rope laces round out the sneaker.
