In 1907 New York City’s Packer Shoes was founded as a manufactory for high quality leather shoes. In 2017, they’re a high class source for sneakers and all kinds of shoes. For their big anniversary, Packer teams up with J.Crew and Asics Tiger to go back to their roots:
To celebrate 110 years of Packer Shoes, they created four versions of the GEL-Lyte III in the “Dirty Buck” style – “Dirty Buck” was Packer’s collab with Asics for the 25th anniversary of the GEL-Lyte III back in 2015 that was inspired by their original dress shoes. This time, oxblood leather, white buck, navy buck and charcoal suede were made. All feature premium tan leather lining and the Packer label embroidered onto the medial side of the shoes tongues. The “1907 Collection” additionally includes a quartet of matching New Era caps.
The release will take place in the J.Crew Mens Liquor Store in NYC on September 28 and 29, while an online and inshore release on JCrew.com, J.Crew stores and Packer Shoes will follow on September 30. Meanwhile check out our history-check about the GEL-Lyte story.
