For their upcoming joint work with New Balance, Berlin sneaker store Overkill once again channels the unique character of their hometown. The Overkill x New Balance Berlin City of Values Pack features two iterations of the ever-beloved 1500.
Apart from its history, modern-day Berlin is especially known for a distinct club culture. That’s why people from all across the globe flock to the German capital for a special night out. Whether it’s an underground techno club or a one of the crazy raves like love parade or gay pride, Berlin unites these contrasts like no other city.
With the “City of Values” project, Overkill also celebrates the 30th anniversary of the 1500. A classic M1500 represents the retro element in pastel colors , while the M1530 adds modern black-on-black aesthetics. Reflective “N” logos as well as the flying NB logo on the front side panels appear on on both styles. Stitched branding on the tongue labels as well as theme-printed insoles complete the sneaker designs. On top of that, three pairs of laces and three pairs of colorful lace tags provided a lot of possibilities for an individual look.
Matching Pride Month and other diverse highlights of the city’s never-sleeping cultural landscape, this pack is an homage to the lively Berlin electro culture. A project that highlights the values of equality, unity and diversity – which is why these words adorn the tongues of both sneakers.
