NikeLab x COMME des GARÇONS Dunk Hi “Clear”
Better wear clean socks because NikeLab is joining forces with fashion label COMME des GARÇONS to update the classic Dunk Hi with a transparent upper.
That’s right, transparent: The “invisible shoes” add clear PVC vamp, quarter, tongue, and collar sections for a see-through effect paired with black leather overlays and swoosh. Holes on the medial quarter and vamp provide ventilation.
Similar to last year’s clear-soled VaporMax created with COMME des GARÇONS, which debuted at a fashion event last October, the clear Dunk Hi was first teased at designer Rei Kawakubo’s Spring ’17 runway show.
The release is part of a bigger Nike push for this year’s New York Fashion Week. Along with a set of collaborators, Nike will activate locations throughout the Big Apple with exclusive releases.
Releases include the buttery NikeLab x Riccardo Tisci Dunk Lux Chukka.
Also the Nike Sportswear 5 Decades of Basketball collection created with KITH, featuring tan-colored collabo versions of the Air Foamposite Pro, Zoom Generation, Air Force 1 Sport Lux, Blazer Studio Low, and the Flight Bonafide.
And not to forget the Harlem-themed Nike Air Force 1 x VLONE and an early release of the Nike Air Force 1 Upstep “Glass Slipper”. It’s a heavy line-up, view Nike’s NYFW Heat Map here in your browser.
Kicking things off, the NikeLab x COMME des GARÇONS Dunk Hi “Clear” will go on sale tomorrow, February 8, exclusively at COMME des GARÇONS New York. There will also be a highly limited supply of VaporMax’s.
