With the Dunk Low, one of the formative Nike silhouettes of the 2000s experiences a much-longed for resurgance these days. And as we now see retro versions of coveted releases from back in the day, a very special one also returns: the Nike Dunk Low Viotech.
Originally a Japan exclusive, the sneaker first hit the shelves in 2001. But just like any shoe that releases both in scarce numbers and only in certain regions, it soon caught the attention of sneaker afficionados around the globe.
18 years later, Nike finally brings back the Viotech Dunk in its original design – and this time, it drops worldwide. The luxe suede uppers in Viotech Purple, Lime Green, Crimson Red and Cobalt Blue immediately catch the eye. In addition, the slim tongue reminds of the pre-SB era Dunk design. Nike branding in the heels as well as black tongue labels then finalize this 00s classic.
DID YOU KNOW?
“Viotech” is not a name for the full design, but for a specific color: Viotech Purple. Just like Infrared, it’s an exclusive Nike tone that appeared on several other sneakers after 2001’s Dunk Low.
