Out of all the great 90s runners by the Swoosh brand, few are as sought-after as the Nike Air Skylon 2. First released in 1992, the shoe was part of the Bowerman line which featured highly technical trainers. And because there never was a re-release in the 26 years ever since then, vintage lovers are dying for a Skylon 2 retro.
Thankfully Nike now finally listened to the never-ending requests and brings back the wedge-shaped beauty in 2018. A white mesh toe box and white suede overlays make up the shoe’s clean base.
Cursive “Air Skylon 2” writing on the quarter and a Nike Air logo on the back further fuel the 90s nostalgia. The Skylon 2’s eye-catching design detail though is a speckled color gradient, here in turquoise and purple.
This “Eggplant” colorway remains the most popular among vintage heads like Sean Wotherspoon. The Round Two owner recently took to Instagram and shared a fresh look at the upcoming retro version of the sneaker. You can check out his on-feet pics below to get an impression of the 2018 release.
