With Air Max Day 2018 approaching, Nike now officially unveils their release line-up for this year’s celebration of Air Max models. And you don’t even have to wait until the actual day on March 26, since the first launches already start rolling out in January. Leading up to the annual Air Max anniversary, these releases tell a story of constant innovation and let you relive the evolution of Air cushioning.
Nike Air Max Day 2018 – Releases
When it was first introduced back in 1991, the Air Max 180 was a true revolution for runners: with 180 degrees of visible air, it allowed direct contact between the cushioning element and the pavement. On top of that, the shoe dons a truly unique look – and the “Ultramarine” OG colorway will return on February 2.
Two years after the 180, legendary designer Tinker Hatfield presented his Air Max 93 with 270 degrees of visible air. As an evergreen of retro running vibes, the Air Max 93’s “Dusty Cactus” OG colorway also releases on February 2.
As a hybrid of the TN and Vapormax, the Nike VaporMax Plus combines two models that are already innovative on their own. On this model, the most daring Air Max unit meets the one of the AM line’s most innovative uppers, which receives a new moldable mesh articulation. The Nike VaporMax Plus will be released on January 25.
As the key silhouette for Air Max Day 2018, Nike presents the brand-new Air Max 270. Combining retro aspects of the AM 180 and AM 93 with state-of-the-art tech, the 270 is now presented as the very first Air Max model designed for lifestyle. The Air Max 270 launches on February 1, new colorways will then be available starting March 2.
Additionally, the Nike Air VaporMax 97, Nike VaporMax Flyknit 2.0 and of course Sean Wotherspoon’s Air Max 1/97 design from the Vote Forward campaign will also release during the lead up to Air Max Day 2018.
