Nike Pays Homage to Classic Air Max 90s Colorways
Taking it back to the good old days of the mixtape era, Nike releases two retro-inspired iterations of a Tinker Hatfield classic. Just like the seemingly ancient casette tapes and vinyl records, the Air Max 90 PRM Mixtape Pack featues both an A-Side and a B-Side.
The “Side A” features a light colorway on an upper of mesh and leather. Ingenious details throughout the whole sneaker then celebrate the history of the Air Max 90. Hits of Lemon Frost add freshness to the white and grey base tones, while the inner sides show a piece of the “Moon Landing” pattern. In addition, the translucent outsoles reveals a Greatest Hits tracklist that names formative colorways like the OG Infrared and BRS Powerwall. A cork insole rounds off the sneaker.
Switching to “Side B”, we’re seeing a dark iteration of the first design. Pink accents on the laces, logos and Air Max bubble contrast the black and grey upper colors. The outsole tracklist then remembers classics like the King of the Mountain, Untold Truth and OG Ostrich. Both colorways also feature a “33 1/3” lettering on the lower tongue, alluding to the revolutions per minute of a vinyl LP.
