Depending on who you ask, it might take at least another ten to thirty years until man walks on Mars. But luckily you don’t have to wait that long for Nike‘s latest space-themed sneaker. Five years after the “Lunar Landing” AM90, the brand takes us on another trip through our solar system with the Air Max 90 Mars Landing.
The shoes upper features a Mars surface graphic for which the design team studied actual archive images of the Red Planet. In addition, laces in Magma Orange reference its vulcanology and complement the colorway. As a modernistic contrast, the 3M tongue and heel labels take inspiration from Mars rovers like Curiosity. Finally, the Air Max 90‘s classic sole unit appears in a black tone with light speckles to round off the design with a view into space.
