You don’t have to be a math genius to know this one: The Nike Air Max 90 turns 30 this year. First released in 1990, the shoe will get some special attention from the Swoosh brand this year. While sneakerheads surely hope for retroes of coveted styles, a bunch of classics welcome the new year.
Staying true to its era of origin, the first half of the release reminds of the wild 90s and its colorful designs. The three OG colorways spice up your usual black-and-white sportswear look with hits of Volt, Hyper Grape and Hyper Turquoise. Unfortunately for those with bigger feet, these only hit the shelves in womens sizes at first. But do not despair: the mens size run arrives soon.
If you can’t wait any longer for a fresh dose of AM90s, there’s still something in it for you. The other three colorways dress the Nike model in monochromatic tones made for everyday wear. An all-black version, an all-white one or a mix of both is just what you need to have in your rotation at all times.
DID YOU KNOW?
Nike designed a special version of the AM90 for then-U.S. president George H. W. Bush. Outfitted in classic colorways of white and blue with red accents, the shoe mirrors the colors of the Stars and Stripes flag. In addition, “Air Pres” lettering adds to this shoe’s uniqueness.
