Nike Air Jordan VI Black
The sneaker game tends to slow down after the Holidays, but Jordan Brand is ending the year with a wicked jump shot: Poised to drop on December 31, 9:00 a.m. Central European Time (CET), the Air Jordan VI Black brings back the Tinker Hatfield-designed classic with updated features such as a neoprene liner and 3M reflective detailing.
Originally released in 1991, the Air Jordan VI was the shoe in which Michael Jordan won his very first NBA title with the Chicago Bulls. (Extra basketball trivia: He was also voted MVP and made history as the third player to ever win the scoring title and the NBA Finals Championship in one and the same season.) Allegedly, the molded pull tab on the heel was inspired by classic sports car design and Michael Jordan requested it to be positioned so it would not touch his Achilles tendon.
As subtle upgrades, the new all-black version – nicknamed the “Black Cat” colorway –features perforated leather for breathability throughout the upper, black reflective lacing, and a tone-on-tone black Jumpman logo on the heel. The phylon midsole includes visible air and subtle white accents for a splash of flair.
The Air Jordan VI Black will release on December 31, 9:00 a.m. Central European Time (CET) on the Nike Web Store for EUR 190.00.
