As we hinted in a little forecast by the end of last year, 2018 will see its fair share of Air Jordan retro releases with the first big one being the much anticipated “Black Cement” colorway on the AJ 3. Now Nike has released official images of this year’s version which launches on February 17. To every purist’s delight, the original “Nike Air” branding returns to the heels and replaces the Jumpman logo which was used on the most recent release in 2011.
As usual, black tumbled leather was used on the upper and the pictures raise hopes that Jordan Brand continues to utilize better quality materials just like they did on the most popular retros in the past two years. Last but not least, the elephant print patterns return as Air Jordan 3’s key design element on the toe and heel areas while hits of White, Cement Grey and Fire Red to complete the look of this timeless classic.
