We already told you about New Balance’s technical 574S model (the “S” stands for “Sport”) when it appeared as a strictly limited friends & family edition earlier this summer. Now the wait is over and the progressive silhouette will be making its way into sneaker retail as a general release on July 15 in two luxe colorways – black and silver.
Here’s a quick re-cap on the origin of the shoe: Released in the late 1980s, the original 574 model proved one of the most popular styles in New Balance history. Upon bringing back the silhouette as a ruggedized sports version for off-road running, the company added a few key technical features: The new 574 Sport offers a sock liner for easy slip-on entry as well as Foam Cushioning technology and an Abzorb Crash Pad paired with an ultra-light outsole.
The July 15 drop will consist of two premium versions of the shoe: The black MS574AB and the silver MS574AW. The colorways of these two models were inspired by the original shoe’s boxes from the 1990s, reflected in bold black and red accents on the uppers as well as the soles.
Enhancing the technical look, the midsole features a triangular pattern while the heels have synthetic loops. The uppers are crafted from a combination of premium nubuck leather and sporty mesh, supplemented by reflective underlays.
Check out some on-feet heat below and make sure to catch the official release of the New Balance 574 Sport model on July 15 at sneaker stores worldwide.
