From forest trails to city streets, the New Balance 574 Peaks to Streets Pack pairs the original off-road runner, the 574 Classic, with the 574 Sport as its latest evolution. Originally released in 1988, the 574 started the “mash-up” craze in footwear – blending elements from two earlier models – with a design aimed at casual runners. As you may know, the first number in New Balance styles indicates the level of performance, which means 5 is medium. Released in mid-January 2018, the “Peaks to Streets Pack” connects past and present: The 574 Classic features an ENCAP sole for impact dampening, while the 574 Sport piles on the tech with Fresh Foam cushioning. Both models incorporate hairy suede, nubuck and pig suede, accentuated by mismatched color detailing on the heel tab and wood grain-inspired textile on the tongue.
