When New Balance is talking about shades of Grey, it surely isn’t some corny erotic novel. In fact, the Boston brand keeps celebrating one of their all-time greats by dressing the 574 in a refined set of colors that goes along with the silhouette’s unpretentious aesthetics.
Deemed the “original mashup”, the New Balance 574 combines design inspirations from the 575 and 576 trail legends. It was first released in the 1990s as an advanced running shoe and quickly became a staple in the brand’s illustrious portfolio. And to make this long runner ready for 2018 without altering its distinct appeal, NB has introduced some slight updates this year.
A reduced toe height ensures the beloved wedge-shape that purists long for, while a simplified seam construction and the one-piece lining add wearing comfort. Using premium suede, vintage mesh and smooth leather accents on the “N” side logo, this material mix embodies the acclaimed New Balance quality. Finally, matte and shimmering grey hues are met with white laces as the refined upper is set atop an ENCAP midsole to complete the Steve Jobs-approved signature style.
