The Mizuno Sky Medal OG Is Back from 1993

 In Mizuno, News

Japanese athletic brand Mizuno has been making a lot of waves lately with the introduction of their lifestyle category. Fittingly, the Wave Rider 1 took all the spotlight up until now, but this summer we’re in for the return of another gem from the archives. Get ready for the return of the Mizuno Sky Medal OG.

The Sky Medal made its debut in 1993 after first being unveiled at the feet of all Mizuno athletes – including track and field legend Carl Lewis – during the presentation ceremony at the 1992 Olympics in Barcelona.
Now the model returns as a true 1:1 retro, sporting a full grain leather and nylon upper that shows a very characteristic rainbow logo. The molded EVA sole also features the innovative Transtab cushioning, which would go on to inspire Mizuno’s signature Wave technology.
