Wenn es darum geht, mit Turnschuh-Kollaborationen Geschichten zu erzählen, darf ein Store auf keinen Fall fehlen. Seit Jahren schafft es limitEDitions aus Barcelona, tolle, hintergründige Kollabos, zuletzt den „Castellers“, zu erschaffen.
Für ihren neuesten Streich, der in Kürze erscheint, haben sich Reebok Classics und die Katalanen zusammen getan und tief in die Kreativ-Kiste gepackt.
Reebok’s Ventilator feiert in diesem Jahr seinen 25. Geburtstag – die wenigsten werden an der Vielzahl stabiler Kollabo’s vorbei gekommen sein, ohne sie zu bemerken – und limitEDitions feiert im Oktober mit.
Beim „Sulphur“ gibt der Name bereits Aufschluss über die Inspiration, die direkt aus dem Periodensystem kommt. Schwefel (=Sulfur) ist eine der Schlüsselzutaten bei der Produktion der Gummisohlen, die beim Ventilator verwendet werden.
Die Farben des „Sulphur“ kommen einerseits vom nicht-metallischen Element selbst, aber auch von der berühmten Schwefelmine in Hakone, Japan.
Der Upper besteht nahezu komplett aus hochwertigem Suede, das an verschiedenen Stellen perforiert ist, einerseits natürlich für die Ästhetik, andererseits tut die zusätzliche Atmungsaktivität sicher gut.
Wieder einmal beweisen die Katalanen ihr Geschick, was hintergründige Kollabos angeht! Der limitEDitions X Reebok Classics Ventilator „Sulphur“ erscheint am 10. Oktober bei limitEDitions und allen Shops des Reebok’s Certified Network.
LimitEDitions is well known not only as a great sneakerstore, they’re also great story-tellers when it comes to their sneaker collaborations – you might have heard of their recent „Castellers“ collab some weeks ago!
Now they teamed up with Reebok to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the iconic Ventilator silhouette with another great collab story.
The inspiration of the Reebok X limitEDitions „Sulphur“ comes straight from the periodic table, where you can find the nonmetal element next to phosphor and chlor. You might ask where the connection between Sulphur and Reebok comes from. We got the answer: Sulphur is one of
the key ingredients in the production of the Ventilator’s rubber outsoles, so it’s pretty important for the whole shoe. All the natural colors used on the shoes can be found at the famous Sulphur mine in Hakone, Japan.
The upper of the „Sulphur“ Ventilator is made from rich suedes, partly with perforation, for both the aesthatic touch and extra ventilation while wearing it. Alchemy embroideries on the heel and as swing tags finish the look.
Again we’re facing a well executed story put into a shoe by LimitEDitions.
