On the rare occasion that a high-profile partner gets the chance to actually to a Jordan collaboration, brands and designers seeminly got a very particular favorite: the Air Jordan 4 – just look at the likes of Eminem or KAWS for example. Storied American denim label Levi’s is no different, as the San Francisco-based company now apply their unmistakable indigo blue dungaree stylistics to the Jumpman evergreen. And since you can never have enough illustrious co-signs on a project like this, the first full look at the shoe comes courtesy of skate legend and Nike athlete Eric Koston.
Through the preview pics shared on his social accounts, we get a good look at the dark blue denim upper with uncolored parts featured on the toe box, quarter and lining. Ingeniusly translating the looks of a pair of jeans to this Tinker Hatfield-designed sneaker, tailor-made details like the red Levi’s label, copper eyelets and contrasting orange stitching add to the shoe’s unique appearence. The usual cloth tongue patch has also been replaced by a smooth leather version, while the whole upper is sitting atop a white midsole with red and gum accents. Also part of the release is a matching reversible denim jacket to complete your Canadian tuxedo fit.
After unflattering memes like NT Denim and “What The F*** is Michael Jordan Wearing?“, this collaboration finally puts a point to the plus side in Nike and Jordan Brand’s troubled relationship with jeans. Will you try to cop a pair?
