For their latest release, Karhu again takes inspirations from their home country’s forests. In fact, the sneakers are based on flowers, wild berries, mushrooms – and a traditional Finnish customary law. To find out more, here’s the story behind the Karhu Legend Forest Treats pack.
The Finnish term “jokamiehenoikeus” roughly translates to “freedom to roam” or “everyman’s right.” This principle maintains that the country’s forests allow you to harvest almost anything your heart and mouth desire, all that while respecting nature, property and other people’s privacy of course.
Matching the biodiversity of the woods, the “Forest Treats” pack also features a broad range of sneakers. The Synchron Classic, Aria, Albatross and ChampionAir that assume different types of natural colors.
Bucktorn brown suede and color-blocked nylon mesh grace the upper of the Synchron Classic, while the Aria receives more neutral gray suede panels. Water repellent nylon, a metal D-ring eyelet construction and rope laces continue the outdoor theme on the latter.
Finally, giving a vintage feel to the classic Albatross and ChampionAir silhouettes, both styles sport a berry-inspired colors. Both shoes use a material mix of tight nylon mesh and suede panels on die cut EVA midsoles.
As always, Runnerwally snapped some beautiful shots of the upcoming Karhu releases which you can enjoy below.
