For the latest installment of the adidas Sneaker Exchange program, two of the world’s most vibrant tourist hot spots came together for a souvenir-inspired joint effort. London’s Footpatrol and Juice from Hong Kong both are no strangers to manifold types of street vendors as well as tourists and globetrotters in search of memorabilia. As a nod to this unique type of trade common to both of their hometowns, Footpatrol and Juice get creative on two adidas archive silhouettes dear to the hearts of seasoned sneaker afficionados.
The Matchcourt Mid is one of these models that made a transition from basketball roots to being embraced by the skateboard community. Its traditional black canvas upper is decorated with elaborate embroidery, showing boldly colored themes and both cities involved in the collaboration.
The second adidas model re-designed by Footpatrol and Juice is the Handball Top, an indoor-sports-turned-street-style shoe. Apart from the striking blue suede upper, the model dons a more low-key look with emebelishments featured on the tongue, heel and inside. Material variations like pony hair and fake snakeskin Three Stripes cleverly pick up the collab theme.
Completing the duo is a selection of bespoke souvenirs, ranging from the obvious plates, posters, lighters and ashtrays to umbrellas and half-half scarves.
