During Paris Fashion Week 2018, DC Shoes collaborated with US artist and streetwear vet Joshua Vides. The exhibition titled “Reality to Idea” saw the artist apply his signature style to the brand’s underground creative studio in Paris.
Interested visitors to our Instagram channel surely stumbled upon a pic or two of Vides’ distinct sneaker customs. Known for sleek makeovers that combine crisp white backgrounds with black outlines, the Los Angeles-based designer now put an interesting spin to his approach. Equipped with fluorescent paint, he transformed the location into a surreal space. UV lights revealed a Tron-like area with painted windows, doorways and further rooms that were not there in reality.
Amidst this captivating scenery, Vides of course also showcased a slew of re-designed DC sneakers. The E. TRIBEKA recently made a brilliant return to the scene, so several pairs of the silhouette received the artist’s unmistakable marker treatment. Add the UV light atmosphere and you have a unique look which you can admire below.
Reality to Idea opened on Friday 22nd of June 2018 with an exclusive launch evening. From June 23 to 24, the exhibiton then opened all weekend to the enthusiastic visitors. A limited run of tee-shirts was available exclusively at Nous during the after party.
