It’s always nice when a sneaker company shows some love for the people who keep our culture moving forward. In this case, HUMMEL HIVE joins forces with Danish sneaker blogger extraordinaire Joakim “SevenInch” Friis, who’s been stoking the flames in Denmark ever since the late 1990s.
The collab revolves around an equally clean and classic silhouette: Originally created for the German national handball team in 1976, the DHB shoe is a sleek white low top with a grippy natural rubber sole. It features a soft leather upper, adorned with distinctive 3M detailing to accentuate the famous Hummel chevrons and the heel tab logo. Did we mention that white upper and rubber sole is #hothotheat this season?
The letters DHB are short for Deutscher Handballbund, the German Handball Association, and hummel has been supporting the sport with functional footwear for many years at this point. Bringing the sports collection full-circle the insole features clean linear illustrations inspired by the Handball court.
The collection is limited to 250 pieces and will launch tomorrow, February 25 at select global retailers including Hanon (UK), STØY (Denmark), Overkill (Germany), MITA (Japan), and Black Rainbow (France), among others.
