Hummel keeps dropping heat from the archives. For Spring season, the heritage brand with roots dating back all the way to 1923 is bringing a bold splash of color onto the streets: The Hummel DHB Team OG will release on April 6 at select retailers in a bold dark red suede version.
In February, Hummel joined up with SevenInch to release the handball-inspired silhouette in a clean white version. As the second drop in the brands Archive Series, the Hummel DHB Team OG is actually the first time the shoe is available in its original form since the year 1983.
Originally designed for the German Handball Federation – the acronym DHB is short for (Deutscher Handballbund) – the DHB Team OG features a grippy dark gum sole with suction cups and traction patterns on the outsole.
For contrast, the heel counter and Hummel chevron stripes are rendered in white, and so are the laces. The year 2017 will see the return of more Hummel silhouettes from their running, football, and handball styles.
Titolo shared these on-feet images in anticipation of the release (they will have the shoe in-store and online on April 6):
The Hummel DHB Team OG will launch on Friday, April 6, at select retailers including Hanon (UK), STØY (Denmark), Overkill (Germany), Par5 (Italy), Titolo (Switzerland), Killiwatch (France), Extra Butter (US) and others.
Also look forward to a full feature on Hummel in our upcoming print issue of SNEAKERS and keep it locked to #HUMMELarcHIVE and @hummel_hive on the social feeds.
