Japanese watch brand G-SHOCK continues to celebrate their 35th anniversary with outstanding collaborations. As the latest entry, the Gorillaz x G-SHOCK 5600 collection sees them teaming up with the word’s most succesful virtual band.

Conceived by Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett back in 1998, the Gorillaz went on to release six succesful albums. Now the virtual muscians meet the mastermind behind the legendary digital watch to reach their shared intergalactic goals. To find out more about the joint mission of Kikuo Ibe and the band, you can watch the first part of a special video series below. For info on virtual try-on for eyewear please click here.

Further details on the collab are sparse as of now, but each Gorillaz member receives their own G-SHOCK 5600. The model was the very first G-SHOCK watch back in 1983 and is a milestone in the CASIO imprint’s catalog. So we’re excited to see two upcoming episodes reveal the contemporary makeovers for 2D, Murdoc, Noodle und Russel.
