Since several decades, the two Japanese brand ASICS and G-SHOCK are always at the forefront of innovation in their respective fields. Whether it’s footwear or watches, both companies built their reputation on constant product evolution. Now the two powerhouses join forces to present the G-SHOCK x ASICS GEL-Mai Knit in two colorways.
To mimick the signature robustness and flexbility of a G-SHOCK watch, the GEL-Mai receives a waterresistant Pro-knit upper. Synthetic leather overlays strengthen the shoe’s construction, while comfy fuzeGEL cushioning and a rubber outsole make up the bottom section.
Releasing in two tonal iterations of black and white, each variation comes with dual-branded forefoot stripes and insoles. Red accents on the aglets and insoles then spice up the monochrome aesthetics and add finishing touches.
To complete the drop, both brands also worked on a collaborative wristwatch. The G-SHOCK GBA-800AT-1AER features Bluetooth smartphone connectivity, an interval timer and an LED light. On top of that, a step tracker monitors your daily steps and calories burned.
As a special treat, the guys from 43einhalb came up with a beautiful Collector’s Box for this collab. Limited to only 24 pieces, the padded cases includes the sneakers and goes for the same price as the standalone pair (189,95 €). They launch in-store first at 43einhalb’s Frankfurt location, with remaining pairs launching online at a random time. The wristwatch can be purchased seperately.
