Es ist schon lange kein Geheimnis, dass Street Culture einen riesigen Einfluss auf Fußball hat. Man muss sich nur anschauen, wie Fußballschuhe vor zehn Jahren aussahen und mit 2015 vergleichen. Es ist eine unglaubliche Entwicklung. Bei Nike geht die Inspiration aber in beide Richtungen. Designs, Features und Farbwege vom Pitch findet man in Sneakern wieder. Das ganze Ausmaß dieser gegenseitigen Befruchtung durften wir uns in Berlin bei einer Ausstellung im Overkill Shop ansehen. Den Rest erzählen die nun folgenden Bildern. Im Print Magazin Nummer 27, das im Juli erscheint, komplettieren wir das Ganze mit einem Interview mit Jerome Boateng.
It’s no secret that street culture has had an enormous influence on football. Look at how football boots look in 2015 as compared to just 10 years ago. It’s been a mind-blowing journey. But at Nike, the influence goes both ways: designs, features and colorways from the pitch are referenced in sneakers. To witness the whole extent of this development, we were invited to a special exhibit at Overkill Store in Berlin to look at “pitch-to-pavement” examples.
