From the court to the streets into high fashion: The Converse Chuck Taylor All Star ranges among the most versatile shoes in history. For an elevated take on the classic, Converse teamed up with Hiroshi Fujiwara’s fragment design label to create a low- and high-top version of the Chuck Taylor All Star SE.

True to the design label’s penchant for understated minimalism, the Converse x fragment design Chuck Taylor All Star SE strips down the majority of visible branding – except for a black-on-black star on the high-top – in favor of a clean black on white aesthetic. The white midsole is imprinted with the Converse and fragment design brand names in small sans-serif lettering.

In an asymmetrical play on branding, the left shoe of each pair is adorned with the fragment design label on the inside of the shoe, while the outline is visible on the medial in white ghost stitching.

In terms of materialization, the upper is crafted from fleece fabric for increased protection and support over extended periods of wear. For added comfort, the shoe is equipped with a co-branded Nike Lunarlon sockliner.

Berlin’s very own Overkill Shop shared some nice on-feet pics of the Converse x fragment design Chuck Taylor All Star SE on their Instagram:

And here’s a nice detail of the heel tab and lettering on the mid-sole:

The Converse x fragment design Chuck Taylor All Star SE launches on May 18 at select retailers such as Overkill and on the Converse website with a EUR 120 price tag.
