Starting into 2020 with a daring concept, Converse revisits some of their staple silhouettes in a new collection. For the Converse Twisted Classics drop, the brand takes inspirations from contemporary mash-up culture.
Based on none other than the Chuck Taylor, the collections highlight is the Run Star Hike. In their current collaboration with designer JW Anderson, the cutting-edge model already materialized with an imposing platform sole. Thanks to its jagged rubber outsole, the RSH provides improved traction while the layered star patches serve as an eye-catching accent. The CPX70 also uses the Chuck Taylor’s canvas upper and pairs it with a completely new sole unit. It merges several archive Converse basketball style, resulting in a wild hybrid look. With the ERX heel, One Star middle section and Pro Leather front, this silhouette literally builds on a rich tradition.
To round off the collection, various Chuck Taylor All Star Lift variations und Chuck 70s release alongside the two key styles. Equipped with Converse archive prints, colorblocking elements, layered logos as well as oversized Star Chuck patches, these shoes continue the pack’s bold theme.
DID YOU KNOW?
Contrary to today’s athletes with signature sneakers, Charles “Chuck” Taylor wasn’t a pro when he first linked up with Converse in 1921. The semi-professional basketball player actually joined the company as a salesman and redesigned its early 1917 basketball shoe to create the Chuck Taylor All Star.
