Bodega’s New Balance 997S Is Made to Be Worn Every Day
To outsiders, sneaker culture – and especially the aspect of buying limited collabs to wear them only once in a blue moon – might seem pretty outlandish. And if we’re being honest, rightfully so. With the Bodega x New Balance 997S, the Boston sneaker store delivers a special project that’s intended to be worn every day.
Linking up with fellow Bostonians New Balance, the Bodega crew chose the 997S as the canvas for their design. As a modern take on the classic 997 runner, the lifestyle silhouette adopts the qualities of a well-tried performance sneaker. Bodega‘s version features a mesh upper outfitted with leather and distressed suede overlays. And of course the signatuere dual ABZORB and ENCAP cushioning as well as a dimple embossed neoprene bootie construction provide the wearing comfort you need if you want to wear a pair day in and day out.
Assuming a subtle base design with different grey hues, several color pops appear on the tongue, heel and “N” logos. To match the shoe’s “No Days Off” theme, the co-branded insole shows a graphic of a sneakerhead wearing his kicks in the rain. And finally, three sets of laces add variation to your potential new go-to sneaker.
