Pouring us a welcome refreshment for summer time, adidas teams up with iced tea experts AriZona for a surprise collab. Naturally, the collection features the brand’s can design on a slew of Three Stripes silhouettes. But the AriZona Iced Tea x adidas Originals also pays homage to the convenient price point of the “big cans” that still remains unchanged since 25 years.
On the sneaker side of things, the pack includes both the Yung-1 and Continental 80. Each of the two silhouettes then assumes the patterns of two of AriZona’s most popular flavours. The Green Tea variant with its pastel green base and cherry blossom graphics, as well as the Peach taste that uses a cream white backdrop with hits of green, red and yellow.
Dubbed “The Great Buy”, each sneaker retails for only 99¢ – yes, you read that correctly. Just like AriZona cans, the shoes go for less than a dollar, but of course there’s a catch. Your only chance is a special pop-up location in NYC (see below) and cop a can of AriZona that includes one of the limited-run kicks. Show up early, head straight to the door attendant and get your name on the guest list. There’s still no guarantee for size availability, but the possibility of getting a pair for that price should be well worth it. Good luck!
DID YOU KNOW?
Contrary to what the name suggests, AriZona Iced Tea doesn’t hail from the Grand Canyon state. The company was founded as a beverage distribution business in Brooklyn, New York City almost 50 years ago. As of this day, the headquarters are still in Woodbury, New York. By the way, if you’re looking for a new job: AriZona co-founder John Ferolito reportedly cooks pancakes and omelets for the whole office on his birthday. But there’s also a mandatory dress code for all employees on that day: pajamas.
