If you’re even remotely interested in the sport of basketball, you probably already devoured the first two episodes of “The Last Dance“. Joining the celebrations of Michael Jordan’s illustrious career, the Air Jordan 6 Retro DMP also returned last weekend. And to top it off, German retailer Kickz now presents a very special gift that matches this legendary sneaker.
The Defining Moments Pack originally released back in 2006 as an homage to two of MJ’s most memorable championships. As he wore the Air Jordan 6 for his very first one in 1991, the classic silhoutte received the triumphant black and gold treatment. A highy popular and sought-after special edition, the DMP 6s just returned to the shelves earlier in April 2020. But that alone isn’t enough for the folks over at Kickz.
Together with goldsmith Nathan Thomas, the created a 1-of-1 piece of jewelry. The Australian-born worked for both the iconic Dinosaur Designs and Musson Jewellers before moving to Berlin to pursue his own embark on his own pursuit. His piece for Kickz is a handmade 585 gold dog tag in the shape of an Air Jordan hangtag. It features “AJ6 DMP 2020” and Kickz branding as well as a 585 stamp. The back then shows a shoe print of the unmistakable Air Jordan 6 outsole to round things off.

The AJ6 was the last main line model to feature “Nike Air” branding on the heels. At the same, it was the first Michael Jordan signature sneaker to use a molded structure in the back. MJ himself demanded the fixed pull tab so it wouldn’t hit his Achilles tendon.
