The Air Jordan 11 Bred is one of the most popular colorways on an absolute fan favorite silhouette. But despite its universal appeal, Michael Jordan himself wore the shoe in only 16 NBA games. Why’s that? On the ocasscion of this year’s retro release of the Bred 11s, AFEW looks further into the matter.
For their investigative video, the German sneaker boutique enlisted Sway Clarke who does an on-point Mars Blackmon homage. The 2-minute flick that uncovers Michael Jordan’s best-kept secret also features allusions to the classic TV show Knight Rider, as KITT makes a cameo appearance. Michael Jordan famously wore the Bred 11s during the 1996 NBA finals series against the Seattle Supersonics. While he rocked the regular mid-cut we all know and love on most nights, he had on a low-cut Player Edition for Game 1. This special version (with a unique red lining) actually ended up on eBay a couple of years ago – with an asking price of $15,000 USD.
