Several Air Jordan colorways share a certain connection to the city of Chicago. That’s of course because Michael Jordan himself spent the heyday of his outstanding career at the Windy City’s NBA team. Among the Air Jordan 1 iterations that reference the city, the “Bred” and “Chicago” colorways probably are the most popular.
Now Jordan Brand chose to unite those two looks on one pair of sneakers. But in contrast to approaches like the “Top 3”, they didn’t opt for a clean mixture of colors this time. Instead each shoe’s upper is split in half to feature the “Bred” on the outer and the “Chicago” design on the inner sides.
While divided opinions among Air Jordan fans matched the unusual aesthetics, Nike and Jordan Brand also live up to the shoe’s nickname with a special Chi-City edition.
Limited to 2,300 pairs, this special edition of the Air Jordan 1 “Homage To Home” will be available exclusively at Chicago retailers. Next to each pair being numbered, the limited iteration also features “FROM” and “FOR” lettering on the heels.
Chicago’s own Notre shares a close look at the special edition. Check out the radical mash-up of these two classic AJ1 colorways below and read on for the release info.
