This year has already been a great season for shop collabs and the hits just keep on coming. Afew tapped Diadora for stylish one with an interesting story component: Dedicated to the pure adrenalin rush of sneaker collecting – or sneaker addiction – the Afew x Diadora V7000 “Highly Addictive” is due to be released April 22 in-store at Afew and online via a raffle.
Made in Italy with special kangaroo leather and pigskin suede, the “Highly Addictive” V7000 comes packaged in a pain medication-themed collector’s box.
The premium materials – dipped in mint and coral colors – add a sense of distinction to the classic runner silhouette (see the full shoe in a previous Diadora x Hanon shop collab), while the upper features engineered mesh for ventilation. Afew also added subtle touches such as a “pill” icon on the heel and an all-over print insole.
The safety instructions on the co-branded Diadora and Afew box suggest to “Wear it once a week” and “Do not resell.” Inside the package, the premium sneakers are encapsulated inside plastic blister packaging, accompanied by medical prescription information – for those extremely addicted sneaker patients.
The shoes were co-designed by sneaker scientist Prof. Dr. Wefa, known for his recent Sneaker Addiction Study. Dr. Wefa explains the inspirations behind these buzz-inducing kicks in a video:
So far, we have only a few teaser images, but Afew will gradually unveil more details on their micro-site as the drop approaches.
The Afew x Diadora V7000 “Highly Addictive” Release Date and Raffle will release in a limited run on April 22 at 8:00am CET in-store at Afew on a first come, first serve basis, and remaining pairs will be available for purchase online via a raffle.
