adidas launches the latest addition to their famous UltraBOOST series with the most modified version yet. As the first colorway on the silhouette, the adidas UltraBOOST 19 Laser Red drops in December.
For the 2019 update, adidas worked with thousands of runners around the world in their most ambitious collaboration project ever. And these runners made it clear they wanted a simpler product with fewer pieces but equally high performance. That’s why the brand deconstructed and reconstructed the UltraBOOST from 17 pieces to focus on four key components. Specifically, the optimized BOOST, Torsion spring, Primeknit 360 and 3D heel frame are the most important elements of the UltraBOOST 19.
Two elements immediately catch the eye on the sihouette. The 3D heel frame replaces the usual heel cage, bringing the perfect mix of adaptability and support thanks to a stripped-back design. In addition, a new semi-translucent lacing cage appears on the lightweight Primeknit upper.
Furthermore, the UltraBOOST 19 features a lightweight Torsion spring for enhanced support on landing and a snappy transition to propel runners forward. Last but not least, the shoe uses with 20% more BOOST in the midsole compared to the first-generation adidas UltraBOOST for optimized cushioning.
The “Laser Red” colorway is the first colorway on the shoe that releases in limited quantities. The upper with a new Primeknit pattern in white and black sits atop a white BOOST sole. Active Red accents grace the heel frame and forefoot to add subtle design highlights.
Further limited-edition drops follow in the lead-up to the global inline launch on February 21, 2019.
