Getting ready for autumn, adidas Terrex launches seasonal footwear to combat the rainy weathers. Equipped with a BOOST midsole, the adidas Terrex Free Hiker GTX combines an outdoor-ready construction with athletic wearing comfort.
“We believe that through sport, we have the power to change lives. As a brand we want to inspire people to spend more time outdoors for better health, happiness, and creativity”, says adidas Outdoor General Manager Tim Janaway. “Our response is the Terrex Free Hiker GTX so you can get out there, whatever the weather.”
The GTX stands for GORE-TEX, as the shoe receives waterproof technology. This convenient additions allows for navigating effortlessly between the muddy terrain of the trails to city life with ease. A Primeknit upper and BOOST midsole then not only make the shoe supper comfy, but also reduces its weight. At 415g (men’s), the Free Hiker GTX is a true leightweight. Finally, a Continental outsole provides grip on any terrain.

Even though the first full line of adidas Outdoor footwear and apparel didn’t launch before 2007, the German brand has been involved with outdoor gear for quite some time. In 1980, they even teamed up with legendary mountaineer Reinhold Messner who helped them design hiking shoes for his first Mount Everest ascent.
