Time for the new generation to shine. adidas Skateboarding is about to release a special edition of the Pro Model Vulc shoe for their youngest Pro rider, Tyshawn Jones. The rookie pro who also skates for Supreme worked closely with the adidas design team on the high-top shoe.
The Pro Model Vulc ADV presents a high-top evolution of the legendary Superstar Vulc low-top model known for its signature rubber shell toe. For added skateboarding functionality, it features grippy vulcanized rubber sole with multi-directional Vector Traction.
Added support comes from an ADIPRENE® combined midsole and sockliner, delivering targeted impact heel protection and intuitive board feel.
What’s more, Tyshawn Jones added stylisic touches like python-embossed leather on the upper to the Pro Model Vulc. The colorway, executed in green and white, gives a nod to the classic Stan Smith tennis shoe.
Inspired by personal values
As for the overall inspiration of the shoe, it pays homage to Tyshawn’s bulldog Nico. The dog’s image is rendered in gold foil on the tongue. “I’m super excited to have my first adidas shoe with my name attached to it. I wanted to create something that reflected my style and at the same time pay homage to my late and great dog, Nico,” said Tyshawn Jones on his debut signature colorway.
“My first pair of adidas that I owned had snakeskin on them so I wanted to recreate that for my first colorway. Nico is featured on the tongue so he can always be remembered.”
