adidas Skateboarding is going premium with a limited edition of the Busenitz Pro silhouette, which is a performance-proven staple in the brand’s line-up. In cooperation with iconic Chicago-based tannery, the Horween Leather Company, the adidas Skateboarding Busenitz Pro Horween is crafted from genuine American bison leather with carefully appointed accents.
The Horween Leather Company possesses a legacy of over 100 years in leather production and has been trusted to manufacture the official football for the NFL.
Next to its luxury leather upper, the Busenitz Pro Horween also features a semi-translucent gum sole, waxed laces, and leather lining. It’s fully skateable, but whether or not you will want to tear up such a luxe shoe in contact with griptape may be a tough decision…
As the pro model for German-American professional skateboarder Dennis Busenitz, the Busenitz pro has been in production for over ten years. Conceptualized as the ultimate skate shoe – also implementing features from archival football shoes such as the Samba, Spezial, and Capa Mundial – it has seen several evolutions along the way.
In November 2016, adidas Skateboarding already tapped the Horween Leather Company to produce a not-for-retail “Friends and Family” Busenitz Pro edition. Each pair was individually numbered from 1-300 to mark the shoe’s 10th anniversary.
The new Busenitz Pro Horween releases today at specialty adidas Skateboarding retailers worldwide with a $120 price tag.
