Release Details – adidas POD-S3.1 (AQ1059)
The adidas POD-S3.1 is now available via adidas.com and at select adidas retailers. The “CORE BLACK / CORE BLACK / FTWR WHITE” colorway retails for 120 €.
1. What’s POD?
POD is short for “Point of Deflection”. The new POD System’s main objective is to provide targeted cushioning for the wearer tailored to each area’s specific requirements.
2. The Past Empowers the Future (Again)
By now, this seems to be the unofficial motto of the adidas design departement. This time around, they combine two exisiting cushioning systems – fusing a high rebound EVA forefoot and a BOOST heel section. The “Point of Deflection” bridge takes inspirations from a 90s Torsion bar and links both elements.
3. A Triple Threat
In order to highlight the unique sole construction, each element on the POD-S3.1 assumes a different color. The BOOST sole shines in white, the POD bar stands out with a neon yellow tone and the EVA section is black.
4. True Athleisure
Even though the shoe unites several top-notch performance technologies, it’s a pure lifestyle silhouette. Built with the intent to enhance natural motion, the POD-S3.1 still is a great sneaker for those who are constantly on the move.
5. More to Come
Luckily, the POD-S3.1 isn’t finished with just this one colorway. As already revealed through numerous previews over the past couple of months, you can look forward to iterations in Core Black, Grey One, as well as a black pair with different colorful patches.
